Amanda will be having back surgery on October 12 and nasal surgery on October 21. She will not be able to bend, twist or lift for 30 days in order for the spinal cord stimulator leads to scar down. If she does not adhere to the restrictions and the leads move before scarring down, the surgery will have to be repeated and healing process will start all over. Therefore, Jason will have to take off of work for a month to care for Lennox. He has less than 2 weeks available of sick and vacation time. The rest will be unpaid FMLA.

Amanda’s insurance deductible and out of pocket max are very high and these surgeries are very expensive. As many of you know, Amanda has had numerous previous surgeries including 8 spinal surgeries and countless spinal procedures. All of these medical costs are difficult to manage on a very limited disability income.

The family will be suffering another large financial loss and could use any help friends and family are able to give. The money will be used to pay mortgage and bills first. Any remaining would go towards the cost of the back surgery. If unable to help financially, prayers are equally important and welcomed. If anyone is in San Antonio and would like to help out with providing cooked meals for Jason and Lennox, that would be greatly appreciated as well.
