It is with heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of Heriberto Matlala, also known to many as "Eddie" and to his close friends as "Pika" short for Pikachu. The sudden loss of Heriberto has left his family in shock and deep grief, especially his only daughter and child, Erika Matlala.

Heriberto was a beloved father, son, sibling and good friend to anyone he crossed paths with. Heriberto always aspired to make those around him laugh with his spontaneity and free spirited personality. Anyone that crossed paths with Heriberto knew that his only goal was always to make people laugh, that's all that mattered to him. Everyone loved Heriberto, he loved nature, serving others, and making people smile. Heriberto had a strong work ethic, managing to excel in many different jobs such as landscaping, gardening, and line cook to name a few things. Heriberto always sought to help others, it was his love language, which is a trait his daughter, Erika inherited from him.

Heriberto had a deep love for his family, friends, his only daughter and above all, for God.

During this difficult time, we are reaching out to our community and loved ones to humbly request support to cover the unexpected costs for funeral services. Any contribution of any amount will greatly appreciated. However, if it is not within your capacity to donate financially, any share of this link and any words of encouragement of support and prayer for our family will also be deeply appreciated, as faithfulness to God is of utmost importance, because He is King.

Eddie's daughter, Erika spent many nights in the ICU with him, praying over him, holding his hand, worshipping the Lord, and praising the Lord for allowing them both to spend time together during the last few moments leading up to his passing. Eddie was a faithful believer in Christ, and his daughter Erika will miss having conversations about their shared faith with her dad, that truly meant the world to her. Erika will also miss receiving flowers from her dad every time they would see each other. Erika keeps the dried, last bouquet of flowers her dad gifted her on her desktop in her room.

Con gran pesar compartimos la desgarradora noticia del repentino fallecimiento de Heriberto Matlala, también conocido por muchos como "Eddie" y por sus amigos cercanos como "Pika", abreviatura de Pikachu. La repentina pérdida de Heriberto ha dejado a su familia en estado de shock y profundo dolor, especialmente a su única hija, Erika Matlala.

Heriberto era un amado padre, hijo, hermano y buen amigo para todos los que se cruzaban en su camino. Heriberto siempre aspiró a hacer reír a quienes lo rodeaban con su espontaneidad y personalidad de espíritu libre. Cualquiera que se cruzara en su camino sabía que su único objetivo siempre era hacer reír a la gente, eso era todo lo que le importaba. Todos amaban a Heriberto, él amaba la naturaleza, servir a los demás y hacer sonreír a la gente. Heriberto tenía una fuerte ética de trabajo, logrando sobresalir en muchos trabajos diferentes, como paisajismo, jardinería y cocinero, por nombrar algunos. Heriberto siempre buscó ayudar a los demás, era su lenguaje de amor.

Heriberto tenía un profundo amor por su familia, amistades, su única hija y, sobre todo, por Dios.

Durante este momento difícil, nos acercamos a nuestra comunidad y seres queridos para solicitar humildemente apoyo para cubrir los costos inesperados de los servicios funerarios. Cualquier contribución de cualquier monto será muy apreciada. La hija de Eddie, Erika, pasó muchas noches en la Unidad de Cuidado Intensivo en el hospital con él, orando por él, sosteniendo su mano, adorando al Señor y alabando al Señor por permitirles a ambos pasar tiempo juntos durante los últimos momentos previos a su fallecimiento. Eddie era un fiel creyente en Cristo, y su hija Erika extrañará tener conversaciones sobre su fe compartida con su padre. Erika también extrañará recibir flores de su padre cada vez que se vieran. Erika guarda el último ramo de flores secas que su padre le regaló en su escritorio en su cuarto.
