Hi all,
HERE LIES BEATRICE is short film to be shot on 16mm.
HERE LIES BEATRICE has been awarded the VCUarts Undergraduate Research Grant, but we are looking to fellow filmmakers, friends, and family and asking you all to help us out in order to ensure an amazing film. We will be filming in early March, so we have set out to collect any help we can get early.
It is the story of a mother's 'assumed' last day alive, in which she prepares for her death with the help of her daughter. It is set in 1960s rural Virginia and is reminiscent of the fiction from author Flannery O'Connor. This film is hoping to bring an awareness to the common misdiagnosis and undiagnosed ovarian diseases that claim the lives of women every day.
The money would be used for paying professional actors, funding location, and helping the cost of film development. No contribution is too big or too small.
-Donations of $40 and above will get a t-shirt from the film and name in the credits.
-Donations $40 and below will have their name in the credits.
We are so excited for this opportunity to make a film unlike any VCU production, and again, are grateful for any help that you can give us.
Thank you,
Director/Writer, Sam LaBella
Producer, Katarina Docalovich
