If you’ve visited Lee & Maria’s, you’ve likely met Rambo and Fabion. They’re the friendly faces who greet you at the market, load your boxes with care, and bring quiet pride to every job—from early-morning harvests to late-night clean-ups. They’re part of our extended family, coming to Canada from Jamaica seasonally to support their loved ones back home.

Hurricane Melissa has devastated their communities in Jamaica. Both Rambo and Fabion have experienced significant damage to their homes and the loss of essential belongings. Roofs were torn away, rooms flooded, and the few things that make a house a home—beds, clothing, food, tools—were ruined. After returning home for the season, the returned to home to a stark reality: their families need immediate help to rebuild.

We’re launching this fundraiser to stand with them the way they’ve always stood with us.

How your gift will help

Transparency & distribution

All funds will be collected by Lee & Maria’s and transferred directly to Rambo and Fabion for documented needs. We’ll provide updates as repairs progress so you can see the impact of your generosity. If funds exceed their immediate needs, the remainder will go toward storm-resilience improvements (e.g., securing roofs, drainage, shutters) to help protect against future hurricanes.
