Her Innovation Cameroon (HIC) is a civil society organization committed to empowering

girls and women through STEM education, health, and social inclusion programs. With

a strong presence in the Anglophone regions, HIC is uniquely positioned to provide

localized, culturally sensitive support to the most at-risk populations.

Since 2016, the Anglophone regions of Cameroon have been engulfed in a prolonged

socio-political crisis, which has severely disrupted the lives of civilians—especially

adolescent girls aged 12 to 18. This group has become increasingly vulnerable to

conflict-related gender-based violence, including rape and assault, as well as domestic

trafficking for sexual exploitation and forced labor.

As a consequence, there has been a dramatic rise in teenage pregnancies, with many

of these young mothers left without access to basic healthcare, education, or

psychosocial support. The children born from these circumstances face an uncertain

future—deprived of early childhood education, proper nutrition, medical care, and a

nurturing environment.

Her Innovation Cameroon (HIC) seeks funding to launch a comprehensive support

initiative aimed at improving the welfare of children born to teenage mothers affected by

the Anglophone crisis. The project will focus on:

 Providing access to early childhood education and learning materials.

 Offering maternal and child healthcare services.

 Delivering psychosocial support to both mothers and children.

 Empowering young mothers with life skills and parenting education.

 Creating a safe, inclusive, and culturally sensitive support system.

The expected impact will be

 Increased access to education and health services for at least 500 children and

their mothers.

 Improved maternal and child well-being through holistic psychosocial and

healthcare support.

 Strengthened community resilience and reduced vulnerability of teenage

mothers.

 Long-term reduction in poverty and gender-based disparities in crisis-affected

regions.
