Her Fight is Our Fight - Lauren Maloney

Let me tell you about our friend Lauren: she is fiercely loyal, she is generous, she is kind and she is hilariously sarcastic. She makes the best deviled eggs, she always offers hugs and she has the prettiest blue eyes. If you know her, she will pass along her duck eggs in a handbasket.  But, she is even more than this - she is a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin and friend to many. Her son is an incoming 6th grader and her daughter is an incoming 3rd grader. She is a frequent school volunteer and our elementary school Box Top Mom coordinator. May of 2020 Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer.  In June, Lauren will begin her journey to remission. She has both a  Surgical and Medical Oncology team from Dana-Farber. The evolving plan currently includes a combination of multiple surgeries, radiation and potentially chemotherapy and other treatments.  The Dana-Farber medical team is the best.  She feels comfortable and well-cared for by them.  Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover the majority of her costs, deeming them “out of network.” Initial cost estimates are upwards of $20,000. A lot of people have asked Lauren how they can help. More than anything: she needs your well wishes, your support and your prayers. Beyond that, we have set-up this GoFundMe and if you are so inclined to give, Lauren and her family will make use of your generosity where they need it most, including their mounting medical bills.  Lauren is unable to work while in treatment and hasn't been able to work for many months due to her employer being closed due to Covid-19.
