Her fight is our fight- Abbis journey with Hodgkins Lymphoma

Hey all! As you may all know, my beautiful baby sister Abbi has been diagnosed with Stage III Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She’s 22 years old, and I know cancer was the last thing she expected to hear.

What started as multiple trips to the ER for what was thought to be a stomach ache and a kidney infection turned into us finding out she had multiple masses throughout her body. Abbi had gone to the ER several times, and they would send her home with antibiotics and refer her to primary care. The primary care sent her for an MRI. But before the results came back, she was back in the ER with horrible pain. This ER doctor took her seriously and ran some more tests. Then she finally got the MRI results back and, to all of our devastation, found out she has cancer.

They admitted her to the hospital, and after further testing, found out it’s Stage III Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

She’s been through a lot already these last two weeks, from excruciating pain, several IVs blown, having to get a biopsy, a lymph node removal surgery, and port placement. Not to mention her lack of sleep, and emotional distress.

Her chemo is set to start Monday, April 6th (our grandpa's birthday, so I consider this good luck), but it’s going to be a long journey.

She will be getting ABVD chemo, which is very strong, every two weeks along with immunotherapy. She will also, unfortunately, need to be in the hospital for the duration of chemo due to her pain.

This is going to put a financial strain on her because she can’t work until all of this is over.

Abbi is a strong person, and I have full faith that God is going to see her through this, and she’s going to be healed. She has a lot of love and support.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you don’t have the means to donate we completely understand so don’t feel obligated. Sharing it would also help.

I have never been one to ask for help, but she’s my baby sister and I want her to be the least amount of stressed that she can be. Financial worries should be the last of her problems.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the texts, prayers, love, flowers, cards, and support you’ve shown her. It means the world to us— especially Abs.

Thank you again from our family to yours.
