Hi, my name is Lisa Farrar. I was granted guardianship of my disabled sister-in-law last year. I'm currently not working to provide her full-time care as well as my 18-month-old. My husband is our sole financial provider at this time. I've been working on getting all of her medical stuff up to date.

We have just gotten a cancer diagnosis on top of already having CP and Angelman Syndrome and being nonverbal. We've been in and out of the hospital with GI issues, which ultimately led us to a colorectal cancer diagnosis. She has a 5cm mass in her rectum, and it's causing a bowel obstruction. She also has a pretty significant stomach ulcer that we are keeping an eye on because it's slow healing, and we may be looking to resect that part of her stomach in the future to prevent further issues.

We are scheduled for surgery on Tuesday to place a temporary ostomy bag in hopes of keeping her from any more medical issues on top of cancer. This is going to be a very long, hard, scary road, and I'm just trying to get a jump start on preparing for treatment. We could really use all the support and prayers we can get. I will update as much as I can. We are just starting this journey but diving right in, and not going to lie, it's super scary.

Once we are in a better spot medically she will be traveling 2.5 hours (5 hours round trip) to see her cancer drs. My hopes are to relocate her closer to her drs so she’s not under the extra stress of driving such long distances while going through cancer treatments.
