Her Battle Isn’t Over — Help Us Keep Fighting

Spende geschützt
Hi everyone,

I am Aveline and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful spirit to ask for help for my mom, Mary Ann Dela Cruz, who is now fighting cancer for the second time.

She was first diagnosed in 2021 with a tumor in her womb. She underwent a total hysterectomy and completed 6 cycles of chemotherapy. We were hopeful that it was the end of a hard chapter—but in 2024, her cancer came back more aggressively. (Endometrial Adenocarcinoma – Stage IV-A)

Despite her uterus being removed, she began experiencing bleeding again. After several tests and a PET scan, we learned the cancer had returned with a tumor and spread to her spleen and lungs.

We were blessed to receive help from a few public officials and agencies through guarantee letters, which covered the cost of her chemo at that time. Because of them, my mom was able to bravely complete another six cycles, finishing her last treatment on February 14, 2025.

Her latest PET scan showed that while there were some improvements—the cancer in her spleen and lungs has slightly cleared. But sadly, the main tumor is still there and remains a serious concern.

Her oncologist has now recommended another round of 6 cycles of chemotherapy, this time with a new medication called Bevacizumab (Avastin)—a costly drug that gives her a chance at longer life and better quality of living.

She will be treated at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), a government hospital in Quezon City, Philippines.

The total cost for her treatment is PHP 1,332,000 (about USD 24,000). One of the key medications alone, Avastin, costs PHP 30,000 per vial. We’ve had to delay her treatment because we simply can’t afford to start the next round — and cancer doesn’t wait.

We’ve been trying to get financial aid from public officials and government agencies, but things move slowly—and we’re running out of time.

My mom is 70 years old, but you wouldn't know it from her spirit. She’s always been funny, loving, and caring, not just to us her children, but to everyone around her.

Everyone calls her "Darling," because that’s how she warmly addresses everyone—strangers, neighbors, nurses, anyone she may come across. And true enough, she’s a darling to all who know her.

Even when she's in pain, she chooses to smile, laugh, and stay hopeful. That’s just who she is.

This is extremely difficult for me to do, because I don’t usually ask for help, but for my mom, I will do everything that I can.

Any donation, no matter how small—PHP 100, USD 5, a share, or a prayer—would mean the world to us.

All funds raised will go directly toward her chemotherapy, medications, and medical needs during this critical phase of treatment.

Thank you for reading and for your support. If you’re unable to give, please help by sharing this with your friends, your network, or anyone who might be able to help.

Maraming salamat po..

From the bottom my heart,
Aveline C.
(on behalf of my mom, Darling)
