Let’s make it another 7 years!

Hi, my name is Melissa, I am a stage IV metastatic breast cancer patient under active treatment and I’ve been screwed over by state government incompetence. On 12/5/2021 my short-term disability ended and my long-term benefits should have started the next day. Human Resources did not do what was expected of them and my paperwork was not submitted until January, As per the retirement office, who handles disability claims, the process takes 30-90 days and should have been started in September. In speaking to retirement yesterday, my claim was just received by the medical review board and will take 30-90 days to be approved.

I have no health insurance at the moment. All my meds are on hold and my cancer treatment will also end during this timeframe. Additionally, half of my income is held up in this bureaucratic SNAFU.

I have swallowed my pride by creating this goFundme. I can pick up COBRA and an enormous price that is simply not affordable to me without financial help. Additionally, I have monthly bills that relied on that “on hold” money that are starting to bubble-up via calls and emails.
