This is my Brother-in Law, Henry. He and my sister are in the battle of a lifetime. Henry was your normal Christian husband, father & friend. Until he was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic cancer on July 30th 2020 it started in his kidneys and spread to his bones.
Since then, he’s had multiple strokes that has left him in a wheelchair. His health continues to decline. He requires 24/7 care as he’s unable to bathe, go to the restroom on his own or complete any other functions or task needed for self care.
On top of the cancer, Henry also is a diabetic and suffers from extreme pain from neuropathy. Henry owned and operated his on Garage for many years and my sister worked in the auto parts industry. My sister stayed with her company as long as she could just to be able to provide his health insurance, however the care he requires became to much and since he needed around the clock care, they made the decisions for her to become his caregiver.
Last resort , they had to close his garage and sell his tools, just to pay his medical bills and pay their monthly bills but here we are 2 years since his diagnosis and it’s literally drained their accounts dry, they have nothing left to give financially. Henry is a fighter, a good day for him is mustering up the energy just to be able to eat.
Henry’s always been the one that is so kind hearted and would help anyone that needed a helping hand. My sister is of course the same, she’d give you the shirt off of her back and would go without herself. She is use to them both being able to provide for one another. They are at the point now that they can’t afford everyday necessities and are right before having the “must haves” turned off. They have tried to do everything without asking anyone for help but I’m afraid the burden has become to much for them to bare. I ask for prayer for Henry and Julie, for their physical and mental health. So I’m asking for your support and prayers to help my brother-in-law and my sister. It hurts my heart to know that they have to worry about finances, when they should be taking in every minute, making memories with family and friends.
Thank you all for taking the time to read their journey and I will keep you all updated.
