Donation protected

Update We got released from the hospital yesterday. We are very glad to be home he still has a very long road ahead of him but he's trying very hard everyday and getting stronger. He has PT and OT on Friday. if everyone could continue to pray and share that would be amazing. Thank you all very much for all the love and support!

Hi my name is Kristen Finley. On October 17,2024 ,my 6 year old son Henry woke up and said he couldn’t sit up or move. We sat him up and he fell back on the bed and had a full body seizure. We took him to Advent hospital in Tampa FL during that day, he had about 10 more seizures. The doctors finally got his seizures under control on the 18th and were thinking of sending us home, but then they decided to do an MRI on the next day the 19th. On the 18th he had a seizure and went into respiratory failure then was in status epilepticus(Status epilepticus (SE) is a life-threatening medical emergency characterized by prolonged or repeated seizures without regaining consciousness between them) They intubated Henry at AHT and we were then air lifted to St Joesph’s Children’s Hospital .We then spent 9 days at St Joseph hospital. Where he remained in a medically induced coma. He was in status epilepticus the whole time we were there. They decided to then transferred us to John Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St Petersburg ,so we could receive more specialized care. We have been here since October 28th. The doctors have diagnosed Henry with a genetic mutation (DMNL1) but other than that they really can’t give any information or answers to our questions. Henry was in a medically induced coma for over a month. He is now unable to walk on his own and is in need of physical therapy and occupational therapy.

In March 2025 Henry will see another doctor to be evaluated for possible brain surgery to treat the seizures.

Supporting Henry's Road to Recovery

This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions for our family, but thanks to the power of prayer and the incredible medical team at John Hopkins, our beloved Henry is making unbelievable progress!

However, Henry's journey to recovery is far from over. He still requires ongoing physical and occupational therapy to continue healing. Moreover, our current living situation needs to be adapted to accommodate his disabilities and recovery needs.

As Henry progresses in his recovery, he will need specialized equipment to help him get around safely and comfortably. This includes:

- A wheelchair for mobility and independence
- A walker for added support and stability

We urgently need to find a new home that can provide a safe and accessible environment for Henry and accommodate our family of four. If you know of anyone willing to rent a suitable property at a reasonable rate, please let us know.

We're also launching this GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs of Henry's ongoing medical expenses, therapy sessions, specialized equipment, and other needs that may arise during his recovery.

We're grateful for the support of John Hopkins and the Ronald McDonald House, who have been instrumental in Henry's care. Your contribution, big or small, will bring us closer to providing Henry with the best possible chance at a full recovery.

# Goal: [Insert goal amount]

# How the funds will be used:

- Ongoing medical expenses and therapy sessions
- Specialized equipment (wheelchair, walker, etc.)
- Renting a suitable home that can accommodate Henry's disabilities and recovery needs
- Other expenses related to Henry's care and recovery

Any contribution, big or small, will make a huge difference in Henry's life. Thank you for your love, support, and generosity!
