My name's Henry and I've been fencing since the age of 9. Ever since I became aware of it, my aim has been to fence for Great Britain in the European and World Cadet Championships.

I am proud to say that this year I have realised that goal, and have been 1 of 4 sabreurs to be selected for the European championships in Georgia and am one of three selected for the World championships in Rio. This has been hard work and involved surgery for blood clots in my arm.

The cost of attending these championships is significant - around £5,000:

This is on top of the already high training and travel costs associated with international fencing.
