This request is for Henry Jenkins, his parents Jason and Lindsey Jenkins and his sister Sophia Jenkins.  Henry was born on October 5, 2016 as a happy little 7lb 8oz bundle of joy with whom Lindsey and Jason were absolutely in love with the minute they laid eyes on him.  For the first 12 hours of his life he was a happy, healthy little boy until the following day when the nurse noticed a heart murmur.  The pediatrician was called in to check up on Henry and since that time he has been in the NICU and his parents have been unable to hold or even touch Henry, heartbreaking for any parent of a newborn.  Heart scans and an EKG revealed that Henry had DORV, or Double Outlet Right Ventricle, as well as malposition or transposition of the great arteries, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and near interruption of the aortic arch.  As the doctor put it, his heart is working great, but his plumbing is all wrong.  Henry is now facing open heart surgery and is being transported to St. Louis Children's Hospital to have his surgery performed by some of the best doctors in the country.  Henry is scheduled to have surgery on Monday, October 10, 2016.

This campaign has been started by the friends and family of Jason and Lindsey who have known them the longest and who know what incredible people they are, and how much they are sacrificing for the health of their newborn Henry.  There comes a point in life when all of us need help at some point, and this is that point in time for Jason and Lindsey.  Obviously with long stays in the NICU and open heart surgery for a newborn as well as transportation costs from Kansas City to St. Louis for Henry on a medical plane, this will not be cheap.  While Jason and Lindsey are extremely blessed to have health care, not all of this will be covered and they will still have significant out of pocket costs.  Their friends and family are asking everyone we reach out to for help on their behalf.  We all know that if we were in this situation that Jason and Lindsey would be doing the same for us, so none of us are hesitating to do the same for them.  All money raised will go towards Henry's medical bills, none of this money is being used on anything other than the health and well being of Henry Jenkins.  Jason and Lindsey are already raising one amazing child, Sophia, and will soon be raising another in Henry after what we are confident will be a successful surgery.  What we are simply requesting is to help ease the burden on Jason and Lindsey, as they already have enough on their minds to deal with.  We know we speak for Jason and Linsdsey when we say that words simply won't express how thankful they will be for your contribution.  Having known them most of their lives I can also tell you that not one single donation, whether it's $10 or $1000 will go unnoticed or unappreciated.  We are beyond grateful that Henry has a fighting chance to be a happy, healthy little boy.  He's already proven to be a fighter in his short life, now we are hoping that you will help us fight for him.  Thank you so much for your help, the Jenkins family and friends are eternally grateful for your help. More info on Henry's condition
