This is the story of a wife,
mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, sister-n-law, cousin, Godmother, neice, and friend/confidante. This is the story of my mother Henry Hudson and her fight against Parathyroid cancer and Parathyroid disease.
Henry was disagnosed with Parathyroid cancer in 2013 after a Parathyroid surgery revealed cancer cells in that area. Thankfully, that procedure removed the cancer cells and cancer cell growth appears to be in remission. Henry gives all the glory to God for this divine intervention. Since then, Henry has endured the pain and suffering that comes along with Parathyroid disorders-mainly high calcium which causes extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, and hair loss. As a result, she struggles with some of the routine tasks of gripping and lifting objects.
Henry is pictured here on her way into her home church in the South Oakcliff neighborhood of Dallas, TX. Faithfully, each Sunday she sings praises to God and asks for His healing while watching her granddaughter Riverlyn sing in the small church choir.
Recently, Henry has been told by her doctor that she will need to receive treatment for her Parathyroid disease in order to have the quality of life that will allow her to resume normal activities and not only make it to church each Sunday but to sing louder, shout, and dance again on Sunday and each day forever and forever...Unfortunately, her insurance company will not pay for the panel testing at the Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa, FL that boasts a state-of-the art treatment hospital for Parathyroid disease treatment and the only one of it's kind in the United States. Henry's visit to the Norman Center is a chance for her to receive treatment that will restore her parathyroid to normal functioning.
