Help Henry Winchester fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Kim and I am fund-raising to help Henry and his family during this very difficult time battling Cancer. With the help of your support through either a small donation or by sharing his story, my hope is to try and provide some financial & emotional relief for this beautiful family.

Henry is 11 years old and just after Christmas he started to complain about pain in his left leg and knee. Having to have further tests and and a biopsy at the Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane they confirmed that Henry has Oesteosarcoma (Bone Cancer in his left femur, behind the knee)

The sarcoma has been described as roughly the size of a fist and it is fast growing.

His treatment plan is a 9 month journey.

It begins with 2 x 5 week cycles of chemotherapy, then a limb salvage surgery to try and remove the tumour. Depending on the condition of the bone and surrounding area this may mean the growth plates may also be removed leading to further surgeries in years to come. If the cancer has spread or is harder to remove, he then maybe looking at amputation.

Depending on surgery results chemo will recommence around week 12 for another 6 cycles (18 weeks).

Henry and his Mum and Dad (Emma & Adrian) have had their lives turned upside down with this diagnosis and on top of it have had to leave their home in Central Qld and their employment to reside in Brisbane for remainder of this year.

I have no doubt this young brave boy will kick Cancers butt and return home to celebrate with his extended family and friends, and we all can't wait.
