Help Henry Fight Neuroblastoma Cancer

Hi my name is Leah. No words can even begin to explain what we need to say.

Two weeks ago, my beautiful nephew, Henry, was unwell. His mum , my gorgeous sister Danielle, took him to PCH emergency but he was sent home. Two days later he wasn’t improving and she took him back. He was admitted with Rhino virus and pneumonia. He was started on IV antibiotics that did not work. After 3 days they swapped to a different antibiotic and still no changes in his blood infection markers. The doctors were ready to discharge thinking it must just be a virus.

Thankfully the paediatrician saw something wasn’t right and went with her gut. A full body CT scan showed a tumour on his adrenal gland. At this stage they confirmed Neuroblastoma cancer. As there were still too many red flags, the oncology doctor performed a bone marrow aspiration, and it was confirmed the cancer had spread to the bone marrow and it is now Stage 4 and aggressive.

Henry is now on the oncology ward at PCH for the foreseeable future and starts his gruelling chemotherapy journey immediately.

As Rowan and Danielle have both had to take time away from work to be with Henry and also his big brother, Charlie, I am asking for any support you may be able to give.

Henry is 3 years old and should not have to go through this, but if we can take one pressure off the family that will be a good start.

We will also use this platform to provide updates on Henry as the family are experiencing a lot of messages and cannot possibly answer them all individually.

Like most people they have a mortgage, bills to pay and another child to care for as well as try to be with Henry 24 hours a day.
