Henry Family Wildfire Relief

This is an incredibly overwhelming time. I can’t imagine the loss. I want to tell the story of the Henry Family Hollow. This is a historic place built into the rugged landscape of California’s Redwood Forest and Open Space Preserve. A dirt path road hugs the mountain side as it winds deep into a magical place filled with nature. The hollow was etched a lifetime ago using timber and stone from the property. If you’ve ever visited Ben and Tomi at the Hollow, you know it’s a place where time slows down and joy rises up; where sunshine peeks through the towering trees with a peaceful creek babbling along. This is a homestead full of the hopes and dreams of raising a family… and a few chickens and goats. It’s a place of wonder where Malcom, Helen, and Wally laugh and play. The wildfires on the west coast have forever changed the landscape of the Hollow. Late September, Ben and Tomi lost their homestead to the Glass Wildfire. They were evacuated just before the flames neared, taking only the most important necessities. They are safe and several of their animals are being re-homed although some didn’t make it. Tomi sent a picture of their home where only a fireplace stands tall in the ashes. It’s all gone. They’ve lost not only their home, but all of the work and time spent building their future in this place. Tomi’s sisters, Angie and Cara, also lost their homes in this fire. Each of them will have to pull together to rebuild their lives. I’m asking for any donation you are able to share so they will have a jump start on rebuilding their futures.
