Henry Emergency Surgery

Monday night my 11 year old, sweet, sweet cat got into an altercation with our outside cat. Henry was injured and had to have emergency surgery on his eye. The ER vet was skilled and comfortable enough that instead of having to remove the eye, he was able to repair it. Henry had had his iris ripped and the inner chamber punctured so his eyeball was deflating slowly. The doctor repaired the iris and reinflated the eyeball and placed 11, tiny tiny tiny, sutures in an attempt to save the eyeball even if Henry would only have some sight left.

We paid out nearly $1000 that night for it despite it leaving us near bankrupt, we tightened our belts and set out to do it for him. Tonight, Henry was asleep on the couch, I was in my room and my mother left him for a moment to go use the restroom. He was wearing his cone, he'd done well so far with it, and then when she returned to the living room Henry was in the kitchen crying with what appears to be his sutures ripped out.

We've taken him back to the ER and are currently waiting on the estimate for the probable Enucleation (removal of the eyeball) tonight. A family memeber has agreed to loan us the money to have this surgery done since we are already near negative in our accounts because of the first night and we failed the applications for CareCredit and ScratchPay.




I am hoping to be able to pay the family member back and keep us afloat too. All I ask is for at least a share, even if you can't donate. This is my animal and I accept responsibility and I am doing what I can. But if I can beg of the kindness of friends, families, and strangers, I will. I've had the kindness of friends and family before and I have no right to ask again, but this is for my baby and I will do what it takes for him.
