Henry Dwyer & Family

Our immense love for Mike, Rachel and Emmett multiplied when Henry James was born on April 3rd.  Our hearts instantly fell in love with his big eyes and beautiful smile.  His doctors and parents knew soon after birth that he was having difficulty clearing his lungs and his stomach was filled with air.  After long days and nights in the NICU, they determined that he had a tracheoesophageal fistula - a connection between his trachea and esophagus. Over the last four months, we’ve seen and read the updates from Mike and Rachel.  He was transferred to UH Rainbow Babies to have the surgical repair. Weeks later he was discharged, then Emmett finally got to meet his little brother “Henny”.  Mike and Rachel were taught how to feed through the g-tube and Henry was learning to bottle feed. He began to have trouble swallowing and they found that he needed another surgery, since his trachea and esophagus fused back together.

We are all searching for a way to help, show our love, support in any way. We all love this family SO much and it’s incredibly difficult during this time of isolation that we cannot pop in, stop over, babysit and give them a hug.  It’s hard for us, but it’s so much harder for them.  In an effort to relieve some stress from Mike and Rachel, this fund was created to support their family.  Their family is my family. I love them beyond words.  We truly appreciate all of your support.
