Good day, We are starting a gofundme on behalf of our friend Henry Castaneda. He had an accident during the first day of the event Hilly hundred 2018. This happened going down hill at Mt. Tabor. He said that he started to lose control of his bike as he was going downhill. He tried pressing the brakes but the road was slippery and started to lose control of his bike. He stated that he did not want to hit the bikers that were in front of him so he swerved to the side of the road. He was transported by an ambulance to IU hospital in Bloomington. They performed an exploratory surgery. They removed 6 liters of hematoma and took out his left kidney because it was shattered into two. They entubated and sedated him, because they could not close his abdomen due to swelling. The following day, his physician decided to airlift him to IU Methodist in Indianapolis because they have a better trauma care level. There they were able to close his abdomen. He stayed in the ICU for 3 days. Currently, he is in TPN through PICC for nutrition due to blockage and adhesions in his stomach and he will be needing another procedure to remove the adhesions. Since he is still in post-op, his next surgery is witheld for couple more weeks. We would like to ask for a little bit of assistance for his rising hospital bills. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank everybody who helped him during that day. To riders that helped us; to the guy who called 911; to the first responder; the doctor that stopped to assess him; to all fellow bikers; the Sags; the emergency crew; the organizers, to all who helped and still helping him and to our Almighty God for saving his life. Thank you and more power. Currently he is still admitted at Methodist.
