Lift Off to Worlds – Help Me Represent Great Britain at the World Powerlifting Championships
Hi, my name is Henri Goddard, I’m 17 years old, and I’m currently studying at Sixth Form in full time education. I’ve recently been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Powerlifting Championships in Costa Rica later this year in August - a huge honour and an incredible opportunity that I’ve worked extremely hard to earn.
From Local Lifter to British Record Holder
My journey in powerlifting has been one of dedication, discipline, and passion. On 16th February 2025, I competed in the British Classic Bench Press Championships and was crowned National Champion in the Under-18s 83kg category — breaking the British record in the process.
Just a few weeks later, on 30th March, I competed at the British Sub-Junior Classic Championships, where I took first place in my weight class and managed to set two more British records.
Being selected to represent my country at the World Championships is a dream come true. I’ll be competing against the best lifters from around the globe and doing my very best to make Great Britain proud.
Why I’m Asking for Your Help
As amazing as this opportunity is, it comes with significant costs — including travel to Costa Rica, accommodation, kit, and competition fees. Unfortunately, all of these expenses are self-funded, and that’s why I’m reaching out.
I’m asking for your support — whether it’s a donation or simply sharing my story — to help cover the costs of getting me to the World Championships. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to that platform in Costa Rica.
Thank You
I’m so grateful for any support you can give. Your help means the world to me and will go directly toward helping me represent my country on the international stage. Thank you for believing in me and for being part of this incredible journey.
