Four Hennings Wine Colleagues. One Marathon. Countless Vineyards. A Great Cause.

This September, Steph, Jo, Hannah and Matt P from Hennings Wine will be standing on the start line of the legendary Marathon du Médoc in southwest France.

After months of training, early mornings, long runs and more kilometres than we'd care to count, we're ready to take on one of the world's most unique marathons. Set among the famous vineyards of the Médoc, the event is renowned for its atmosphere, fancy dress and celebration of the region's wine heritage.

While the event is famous for combining running with wine country hospitality, we wanted our challenge to have a deeper purpose.

As a wine merchant, we've long admired and worked with producers across France, including many in the Gironde region. Following the devastating wildfires that affected the area and the communities that protect it, we're raising funds for L'Œuvre des Pupilles, which provides vital support to the children and families of firefighters who have lost their lives serving others.

The marathon itself will be tough. There will be kilometres to cover, costumes to wear, and no doubt a few moments where we question our life choices. But every step will be taken in support of a charity doing incredible work.
