July 19, 2013. When I acknowledge that this day exists I am filled sadness and heart wrenching pain that continues even 5 years later. I remember that day so vividly, and yet I can almost not even believe it was real. That is the day we lost Henley Hazel Romine, my kindred spirit and my niece, but a person that embodies so much more. In her 4 short years of life, she touched lives throughout the world. For the month of July, in honor of our Brave Bee, I am going to write every single day. 30 days. No guidelines or plans, some things I'll share and some I'll keep to myself. The goal is to initiate personal growth that pours over into the community by raising money to fund special "Buzz Around Indy" trips for other families dealing with the same unthinkable realities that our family dealt with. The Henley Romine BEElieve Foundation exists to not only honor Henley and her love of life, but to allow other families fighting childhood cancer to be able to get out for a day and have an all expenses paid trip around Indy, experiencing all the things they love most.
