Henk and Bettina Schuurmans set out in late June from their Elmira area dairy farm to drive across Canada. Henk and Bettina's goal was to draw attention to our Canadian dairy and supply management, and what it means for the families that produce Canada's milk.

Tragically, the Schuurmans were involved in an accident on the morning of July 9th outside of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, resulting in Bettina's passing and serious injury to Henk. There will be expenses related to the accident and its aftermath, and lasting impact to their family. We do not know what the amounts of those expenses might be, but want to show our support for the family and allow others to do the same in this small way. All of the proceeds will go directly to the Schuurmans family. Tom Schuurmans, Henk and Bettina's son, will be acting for the family as the beneficiary of the funds raised.
