As most of your know Hendrix is my ‘soul dog’ he’s helped save me whilst my world fell apart 12 months ago and now I’m desperate to save his.

Last night he began to show signs of IVDD, I took him to the emergency vet at 4am, at that stage it was graded low risk and to go home with pain relief and crate rest for 4/6 weeks. Today he has deteriorated and has now lost complete tone/power to his back legs resulting in another trip to the vets to he told he now needs emergency spinal surgery to recover from this.

This means an emergency admission to a specialist spinal hospital in Leeds, today I found out my insurance will only cover £2000 of a £4.5k operation. As you can imagine I am beyond devastated at the prospect of losing my little best mate alongside everything else I have and continue to be dealing with mentally, emotionally and financially moving forward.

This is something I never thought I’d have to do, nor ask of but I am desperate beyond words to try and save my boy, he’s only 5 and anyone that knows or has met Hendrix knows he is the sweetest, most placid and loving dog, he deserves a few more years left on this earth. He has a family that love him dearly!
