Hi my name is Megan Montgomery and I am fundraising for my nephew Hendrix, my sister Gillian and my brother in law Daniel. Hendrix was born with a small jaw along with some other issues. He has struggled with his breathing since the day he was born. He had a big jaw distraction surgery when he was a little baby and that was successful enough to get him to this point in his life. He is 6 now and has grown quite a lot since his first surgery. The surgery has never fully fixed his breathing, especially at night, but the most recent sleep study has shown that he needs another surgery and pretty quickly. His surgery has now exceeded the professionals that we have here in Saskatoon and they have asked for him to be accepted to Sick Kids Toronto. He has been approved and they already have an appt scheduled for the end of July. This appt needs to be in person so we can get the process moving forward as quickly as possible. This is quite short notice but also very good that everyone is trying to get him seen and fixed up as quickly as possible. Sick kids in Toronto seems to be the very best care for him and his diagnosis so we are all very hopeful! This will be taxing on the family income as they are mostly a ‘one income family’ and it is far from home. I’m hoping to help with covering flights there and back (numerous times), food/hotels as well as the time off from work (that will most likely exceed holidays depending on how many times they have to go there/recovery) I will be posting updates as we get more information. Please help me help Hendrix and his family get to Sick Kids Toronto and get the surgery he needs with the best care possible! Thank you so very much.
