Do you know Kayla Andrews? We are raising money to help alleviate the financial stress for a western North Carolina family experiencing fentanyl tragedy.
In Hendenderson County, NC at a popular family restaurant a beautiful young girl of just 22 has lost her life after receiving fentanyl, walking into the bathroom, and losing consciousness.
Henderson County's Pardee hospital has been a shining light of care and compassion for the family and local police are taking the case seriously. We are appreciative of our local hospital and police force.
The family has local roots as housekeepers, lawn care workers, FedEx, maintenance and more. In short this family has been taking care of others in our community for some time and I ask as a community we band together and show this local tribe our support.
No one saves money to bury their child. It should never have to be done.
Every parent can imagine the grief of this family. Please stop and donate what you can or however much you spent on your last meal to this family. It's a good deed.
The money will go toward paying for Kayla's funeral, medical expenses, and replacing the family's lost wages. Even 15 years ago funerals were expensive, now they are an almost unbearable financial stress for many families.
Please act now and give just the cost of your last or next meal, to Kayla and her family. Her loved ones aren't eating meals because they are distraught. If your donation for your next meal amount means you also skip a meal, you unite your suffering with the family in honor and memory of Kayla.
You also unite with us to bring awareness though your public donation or simple sharing of this gofundme that we are a strong community that will remember Kayla (whether you have met her or not!) and take a hard stand against fentanyl.
Prayer warriors, please storm Heaven with prayers for Kayla's trip home and for her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whom are all still living. Kayla has many loving family members, but thinking of those three generations of Mother's losing Kayla, each hurting for their own daughter, is simply heart-wrenching.
My own children are happy and well fed, but we will be fasting tomorrow with simple affordable foods in modest portions. We fast to donate the money we would normally spend on food to this good family and to honor Kayla Andrews by bringing attention within our family to the seriousness of drug abuse. We encourage you to do the same.
Tomorrow as we feel just a bit of hunger, we will unite our suffering with Jesus Christ on the cross and with Christina, Kayla's beloved mother, both who know a suffering none should have to bear.
Rest In Peace Kayla. You will never be forgotten. Your community will make sure your story is spread far and wide to honor your life and to bring awareness to the destructive nature of fentanyl and those who distribute it in western North Carolina.
