On January 28th, while at work, my mother had a massive Hemorrhagic stroke, which is caused by a ruptured blood vessel in the brain. The doctors don’t know exactly what caused her stroke, but it damaged the left side of her brain and paralyzed the right side of her body. It also caused her to lose the ability to speak, swallow, and eat. She is in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hermann.

My mother was a independent woman, raising three boys on her own. She worked as a secretary, sadly this tragedy willaffect her ability to work, drive, and perform normal everyday tasks.

I have started this GoFundMe Campaign, to help her with medical expenses and general financial support (physical/speech therapy, mortgage, bills, groceries, etc.) as she recovers. Without medical insurance l, we anticipate her long term medical expenses will surpass our initial financial goal. But we are hopeful that this campaign will alleviate some of her financial burden so she can recover with minimal stress.
