Help Xiola Say Goodbye To Her Mom
Donation protected
Last year, my mom was diagnosed with Stage IV Spindle Cell Carcinoma - the late stage of an extremely rare form of cancer. She's fought and suffered so bravely through chemo and gamma knife treatments - which have definitely helped to extend her time with us. Unfortunately, by the time the cancer was discovered, it was already spread throughout her body in numerous tumors and was simply too far advanced to treat successfully. Recently, she was told that there would be no further treatments for her cancer as it has spead too far. She was told that at this point, the only efforts that could be done were to to make her as comfortable as possible.
She lives in the Central Valley in California, I live 1,000 miles away from her in Seattle. I have no means to go and see her before she passes. I have no time off of work that I can take, nor can I afford to take any unpaid time off due to the fact that I have a major financial commitment to my beautiful 4 year old daughter. I don't have custody of her but I provide her with a significant portion of my income for her care and early education while I live a fairly minimal life in order to do this.
What I am humbly asking for is help to cover the costs of taking the time off of work and travel expenses so that I can see my mother one last time before she passes on. She's been my only parent for the last 23 years and has been caring, supportive and accepting of me throughout my life. She's taught me that there is no greater love than that of a parent's and has been an unending source of compassion in my life.
I want nothing more than to spend as much time with her as I can before I lose her. I haven't seen her in over a year and I really need my mommy.
My goal of $2,000 will be just enough to cover minimal time off of work and travel/lodging expenses. I will be beyond grateful to be able to hit this goal - anything past this will help to extend my time with her before I would have to return to seattle.
Thank you!
