On May 17th Jaxen was on the playground at school and stated he did not feel well.  He sat down and then went unresponsive. Thankfully the schools staff was able to start life savings measures right away by calling 911 and beginning CPR.  Jaxen was defibrillated, and EMS transported him to Aurora Hospital in Hartford and from there was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.  Jaxen remained intubated for the next two days while numerous scans and tests were done. He was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.  This is where there is an extra electrical pathway between your hearts upper and lower chambers which causes a rapid heart rate which caused his arrhythmia. This is a fairly rare syndrome and only 20% ever go into cardiac arrest.  

The treatment is ablation, which the doctors attempted last Thursday, but were unsuccessful in getting to the area of most concern. He may need to be transported to another medical center (Boston or Michigan) to attempt another ablation procedure. 

Lauren and Dan have been off work to be with him at this time.  We are trying to get donations to help off set travel expenses for the family and any additional medical expenses that will occur during Jaxen's care and recovery.
