Help Our Mom (Winkie Goodwin) Recover!
On Sunday, July 25th my husband Bruce's mom who I affectionately call {Momma Winkie} unfortunately experienced a sudden onslaught of illness which led her to be transported to Anne Arundel Hospital.
It was learned that she was experiencing brain bleeding and a stroke, and needed specialized medical care. She was quickly transported by helicopter to the ICU at George Washington University Hospital. Since that very moment, Momma Winkie has been in a constant fight to stay alive, and come home to her family. This has been such a difficult time for her and our entire family, but we are determined to see a victory in the near future!
As you all know, extended medical care is very costly even with insurance and unfortunately the family will be responsible to cover thousands of dollars in medical bills in the near future. In addition, Bruce Goodwin Sr. has halted working during this time to care for his wife, and has experienced loss of income normally used for living expenses.
Our family is asking for support to help relieve the financial weight off of Dad Bruce Sr. and the entire family, as we focus on nursing our mom back to health. Mama Winkie will have an extended stay at the hospital followed by no less than 4-6 weeks of extensive rehabilitation.
