Help us get to Harvard!

Hello Everyone!

We are a group of five DACA recipients and members of Mix-Status families fighting for immigration reform in the Rio Grande Valley and across the nation.

This year, we were invited to participate in the 8th annual Collegiate Alliance for Immigration Reform (CAIR) Conference that will be held at Harvard College on February 24th-25th, 2018.

This two-day event will bring together college students, organizations, activists, scholars, and other members of the national pro-immigrant rights community to rally, share strategies, and empower ourselves in our fight to achieving comprehensive and humanitarian immigration reform and extending immigrant rights in the United States.

We are excited to come to this conference and share our perspective. As a group of students living along the US-MX border, our experiences interacting with border patrol, the border wall, checkpoints, education, and other opportunities are unique. We believe that having an immigration conversation without these perspectives is a disservice to the immigration movement.

Unfortunately, due to our economic circumstances, we all cannot afford the pricey $500.00 round trip plane ticket from the Valley to Boston. We are asking the help from our friends, family, and community members like you to help us attend this conference. By helping us, you are not only contributing to our trip expenses but also the whole immigration movement by making it more inclusive.

We appreciate you taking time out of your day to read our message and helping us attend this conference.
