Help Travis Apple Walk Again

Donation protected
My cousin's son had over 20+ broken bones in his body.  After his car accident.  Someone passing at a high rate of speed in a no passing zone hit him head on.   Countless surgeries done to date and another one scheduled for June 8th on his left foot.

He has a clinic in Washington State who can help him after being denied by his insurance.  He has been accepted into their program.   A chance now to walk again and get back to the way of life he had.

Let's all try and help this happen!  I want to help, Pray you do too.

This article was written by his wife Missy today. ( April 30, 2018)   Many of you know the battle Travis has had the last few years. For those that don't, Travis was almost killed in a car accident Nov. 10th 2014. The lower half of his body was crushed. Both legs, knees, right foot, small brain bleed, and several minor injuries. He had so many broken bones I'm not going to attempt to list them all, but I believe it is well over 20 bones.
He's had many surgeries and we have come to understand that he will always have continuing medical needs. Even though right now we have wonderful health care (this might change very soon)sometimes that isn't enough.
In the beginning, Travis was told numerous things he enjoys most, would no longer be an option. Well, he didn't like that answer from his doctors and he refuses to give up. They said he would no longer be able to dance with his daughter, so he proved them wrong.
He was told he would no longer be able to go hunting, so he proved them wrong. He was also told he would no longer be able to play paint ball with his son, so he proved them wrong once again.
He did most of these things using a wheelchair.
But you see, that isn't good enough he wants to be on his own 2 feet. And when he says no to using the wheelchair and pushes through the pain to do something, it can take days or weeks to recover.
He has come a long way, but is tired of juggling living life and living in constant pain.
He started researching and found this amazing company called The Hanger Clinic, they make Exosym leg braces and are located in Gig Harbor, WA. Awhile back he filled out all the paperwork and sent it in. Not even knowing if he would be accepted into their program he went ahead and asked his surgeon and Kaiser for these leg braces. His surgeon is 100% sure these would benefit him.
Unfortunately, Kaiser has DENIED our claim. Shortly after Kaiser crushed him by denying his request, The Hanger Clinic called and said he was accepted into their program . This is a complete miracle!!
The best news we have had in a very long time . I was crying happy tears followed by tears of sadness. Unfortunately, this is something we can NOT afford on our own.
These new technology leg braces could give him so much of his life back by allowing him more freedom and even decrease his risk of falling.
So now this is where I,as his wife, refuse to give up ! He immediately said "babe I don't need them. This is a huge amount of money, you could have a reliable car for what this is going to cost. " So once again, I had tears . Saying to him " Are you serious? Your health and legs are more important than a vehicle. "
So I'm asking for help and ideas for fund-raisers. We will have more details and a time line once he gets back from his 1st appointment.  We need to raise around $22,000 plus travelling costs . ( He has to travel to Washington several times for 1 or 2 night trips and then up to a 2 week stay at the end to learn how to use them)
We have never had to to do fund-raisers of this size.
He really deserves this ❤

Thank you,
Missy
