Medical Relief Trip To Puerto Rico

Purpose: to provide the ailing people of Puerto Rico with the immediate medical attention that is needed during the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. I will be focusing on the rural communities of the center of the island as well as those on the west side who have not had access to the relief efforts already present. My team has been in close communication with the directors of public health in these rural areas and have developed a logistical plan to help those most in need. We will also be taking basic hygienic supplies as well as vaccines and medications.

Plan
-Timeframe: 5 days. Ideally leaving in the next 7-10 days.
-Team: Small group, 5-7 people. Including doctors, security personnel, logistics manager, nurses/medics.

My name is Gretchen San Miguel, MD and I am a born and bred puertorrican Physician. I will personally be leading this Relief Mission.
I currently practice in Orlando FL since 2005 but my heart will always call PR home. Watching the devastating impact that Hurricane Maria had on the island has been heart wrenching and compelled me to coordinate this medical relief mission. I have a passionate dedication to to focus this mission on helping those that were greatly affected by the storm and have not yet had access to the resources provided due to age, health status and/or geographical location.
My team members are all volunteers and funds raised will only be used for patient supplies and any unforeseen mission related costs.
