Help Recent Grad Who Landed Dream Internship

Hi! My name is Tony Betton, Jr. and I’m very excited to share with you that I have been selected from a large pool of applicants, for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’ve been offered and have accepted the highly-sought-after Walt Disney Television/ABC News Disney Professional Internship and I’ll be working with Good Morning America as a studio intern for approximately 15 weeks in New York City, New York. Good Morning America (GMA) is the number one national network morning show mixing news and entertainment. It is a news show with entertainment aspects that are relevant to the news of the day. "GMA" is anchored by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan. It’s been my dream since as far back as middle school to find my way to Walt Disney’s ABC Television Group family. Dreams DO come true because my prayers have been answered and it’s truly been a long time coming.
It’s been a tough and challenging road to get to here. I’m a recent college graduate coming from a single-parent household, so money has always been tight. My mom and I have endured many medical and financial hardships that we are still trying to overcome. In addition to the student loans repayment period about to kick in. However, I won’t allow that to stop me from pursuing my dream to be a great storyteller. I am humbled by this opportunity and it’s my goal to take full advantage of this amazing experience. I will make the most of this great opportunity, but only with YOUR HELP!
Some of the requirements of the internship are the willingness and ability to relocate to the New York City area and provide my own lodging, utilities, round trip travel to and from NYC as well as a daily commute to and from work while in the program. I will be working extremely hard for the entire 15 weeks, 40 hours per week, early mornings, nights and weekends. I am humbly asking for contributions small, medium or larger, to reach my much-needed fundraising campaign goal of $8,500 for my 15-week out of state internship. This will cover:
1) 1 bedroom (shared apartment) college/intern dorm (approx $6500 for 15-weeks)
2) Round-trip travel from Atlanta to New York (approx. $600)
3) Subway Metro Pass & other transportation (approx $635 for 5 months)
4) Misc. i.e. utilities, groceries/food, laundry, etc (approx $2500, $450/month)
I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and excited to take my talents and passion to New York City! However, there is no amount that’s too small or too large to help me reach this goal. Any donation would be a blessing. Thank you so much for helping me chase my dream!
