Help Tom Brkich defeat ALS

This active, outdoor lifestyle they loved so much suddenly changed in 2016 when Tom (45) started having issues with his right leg. He began tripping, stubbing his toe and noticing some muscle twitching throughout his body. This was the first time they had ever heard the words “Motor Neuron Disease” and was the beginning of a 2 year medical journey that ultimately ended in an Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis diagnosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease). A neurodegenerative disorder that slowly robs the body of its ability to function.
There is very little the medical system can offer to treat ALS. Tom had tried the two drug trials offered to “extend” life, Rilutek and Radacava (Japan) and neither showed any benefit, instead made quality of life worse while taking them.
Tom is completely determined to beat this illness. ALS affects people differently, some live for many years, some only a few, and some manage to overcome the disease and lead normal lives (http://www.alswinners.com/others-success.html). He has spent countless hours researching, reading, watching documentaries and absorbing as much information about ALS as possible. Although the cause of ALS is unknown, the common belief is that there is an overburden of stress and toxins in the body, crippling the immune system.
This campaign has been launched to assist Tom and his family in dealing with his current needs due to his physical disabilities, such as vehicle modifications, stair lifts, home and bathroom accessibility modifications, as well to aid in his recovery. Since there are no mainstream medical cures for ALS, any available treatments are considered natural, as a result not covered by OHIP or any medical insurance and must be paid for by the family.
The Plan for Healing
Tom understands that an ALS diagnosis only means that the medical system is confused and that they truly don’t know what causes ALS. He has undergone numerous tests with doctors specializing in various fields of medicine in an effort to determine possible root causes. Through research, medical testing, and numerous medical appointments they found several issues which are believed to have contributed to his illness and have created a strategic plan for healing. The approximate cost for one week of the below therapies is approximately $1200. These treatments, if results are positive, are expected to continue indefinitely.
· Relieving Chronic Stress - Tom has since addressed his stress thru meditation, practicing gratitude on a daily basis, renewing his faith and finding a church the family enjoys attending.
· IV Chelation for Heavy Metals – Tom had 7 mercury fillings for over 35 years. Mercury is a known neuro toxin. He is undergoing IV Chelation in Barrie to remove Mercury and other heavy metals.
· 10 Pass Ozone – to treat pathogens and suspected Lyme. Ozone is touted as one of the most effective natural treatments for infections. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XGXusx-bGY)
· Infrared Sauna – Infrared saunas have many clinically proven benefits, the main one being detox through sweat. Since Tom can no longer exercise, the sauna helps him sweat and eliminate toxins.
· Neuro Feedback - brain training technology designed to use the inherent ability of the brain to self-correct, re-organize and self-heal.
· Hyperbaric – this therapy increases free oxygen in the blood and increases energy and boosts immune function.
Spiritual Request from Tom
Hi everyone, I just wanted to quickly say thank you for visiting this page. It’s been a challenging couple of years, with many more challenges to come but I feel extremely confident and know our bodies can heal. I also feel a spiritual presence is guiding me along this journey. I believe every misfortune has a silver lining and the silver lining in this story is that this journey has renewed our faith and brought my family back to the church. Although I am very confident, I understand that death is a possibility however the stronger my faith in Jesus grows, the less fear I have of death. I feel that God listens to us all, and hears our prayers. Therefore, if there is one thing I would ask, it’s that you please say a prayer for my family and I. This would mean a lot to us and I strongly believe it will go a long way to help me along my journey.
God Bless you and your family.
Love Tom
