**Stan and I on vacation one day before accident ^**
My name is Shyla Spence and I am making this account to try to help our family the only way I know how at this time. Making this account isn't something we ever wanted to have to do and it has taken us almost 2 years to decide to make it, but we are coming up on very hard times and would appreciate any help we can get.

As some of you know, Stan was hurt at work on May 31, 2015 at Pryor Chemical Company. The injuries that he sustained were so severe that his plastic surgeon has only ever saw one other injury equivalent to his and it was self inflicted with a shotgun.  Stan was at work, working on a CO2 compressor when the valve blew out and hit him in the face, breaking every bone in his face except for his bottom jaw.

Which resulted in surgery...
                                 *After 1st Surgery^*
#1 That was a 9 hour reconstructive surgery cutting him from ear to ear doing a facial flap procedure, which is where they removed is face cutting all nerves to put in 9-10 plates. The doctor was unsure during the first operation if they would be able to save his vision but made it a high priority. 12 days in the hospital and he was released to go home. Fast forward 6 months and his surgeon knew it was time to go back for surgery....
                                             *Surgery #2*

#2 To help his double tilted vision, the proturding left eye and fix the condition in his left eye called entropion, which was where the bottom eyelid rolled inward under the eyeball causing the eyelashes to scratch the cornea. That 4-5 hour surgery was only partially sucessful, it did not help with the double tilted vision, and didn't completely fix the eyelid.

#3 Surgery to help him breath through his nose again, the right nasal passage was completely blocked off from his sinues being obliterated during the explosion. This surgery was more extensive than expected, but was a success.
Stan is coming up on surgery,

#4 On May 18th, 2017. This will be one of possibly 2 surgeries to help repair vision, they will be cutting on the muscles of his good eye to try to realign the two eyes to work together again.

May 31, 2017 is 2 years since his accident. In Oklahoma 2 years is the max time you can earn workman's compensation. While these past 2 years have been hard on him physically, mentally, and emotionally it has also been hard financially. Oklahoma laws for worker's comp are that you can make up to 70% of your wages, or max out at $571 per week, which is what happened in his case.  Now, that may seem reasonable for some, but that is less than half of what he was making per week and our lifestyle was built around his income. We are now financially stressed, resulting in foreclosure on our home. We have to pick and choose to pay our utilities, pay on our cars or buy groceries, all things we never would of had to worry about had this accident not happened.
At this point in time, we are still unsure if Stan will ever be able to return to his line of work after having a tramatic brain injury like he has. Not only has Stan's life been completely turned upside down, but our children have also suffered through this life altering accident.Anything you can contribute to our campaign, whether it is $1, $5, anything would help to help us pay for our day to day expenses including trying to get our home out of foreclosure. If you can't contribute financially please send prayers and positive thoughts.
We would like to say "Thank You" to everyone who has donated to us, words can't describe how thankful we are for people that care enough to take money out of their pockets, out of their families mouths to help us. The people that have donated to the benefit dinners that Stans co-workers and friends he worked with had done for us right after he got hurt, we appreciate it more than you know, Thank You.
