Help the Mutt Scouts buy a new dog transport bus!

Welcome to our GoFundMe and thankyou for reading our story. We're Nikki Audet and Johnny and Viva Lane and we've been running Mutt Scouts, a Southern California dog rescue that rehabilitates and rehomes neglected, sick and ill-treated dogs wherever there is need, for over twenty years.

The majority of our intake comes from Mexico and regional high kill shelters. With the help of our dedicated network of rescuers, coordinators, fosters and adopters we get dogs out of the worst situations and into loving forever homes in the USA.

Since the Covid pandemic the number of dogs that need us has risen dramatically and we are helping more and more mutts to find new homes. Many of our dogs have seen the cruellest, most heartbreaking treatment and we live for bringing joy and peace to every single dog no matter how bad things seem when we find them.

This year our beloved Mutt Bus finally broke down and we are now in desperate need of transport for our dogs. This trusty old girl saw us through many trips, helping so many of our dogs - even making it from coast to coast taking a huge number of mutts from Mexico to New York. Without her we don't know what we're going to do.

So we're fundraising for a new Mutt Mobile to get our dogs out of the shelter and into homes as fast as possible. Every dollar you give will go directly to the purchase of another bus to whisk our babies out to vet appointments, adoption events and eventually on to their forever homes. We will update this page with progress, video of the dogs you help us to save and, if we can raise enough in time, we will take you on our journey across the USA to transport as many dogs as possible from Mexico to New York this summer!
