The Locke family needs our help. Brian Locke just lost his 17 month battle with Stage IV cancer and 7 year old Chaeli recently had her FIFTH heart surgery.

Brian spent many difficult months on chemotherapy, but doctors have praised it for prolonging his life. He held on to spend one more Christmas with his family. In March, when COVID-19 hit the United States, Brian was laid off by his company. Mounting medical bills, loss of income, and a slow to act Congress has hit this family very hard!

Brian and April have been married since 2011. Together, they have one child - a daughter, Chaeli (7), who loves ballet. Garrett (10) and Cody (13) are from April’s previous marriage, but Brian has always treated them as his own. That’s just the type of man he was raised to be. He also has an older son, Caelan (23), who recently married and had (with his wife Moani) Brian’s first grandchild - Ezra, who was born in November.

2020 has been a hard year for most people. But imagine your 2020 with your spouse deteriorating more and more by the day, then being placed in hospice (in your own home) a few days before Christmas. Knowing this would be the last holiday you’d get to spend together as a family. Knowing Brian won’t get to see his daughter’s next dance recital. Knowing their children will grow up missing one of the most important and influential people in their lives. On top of all of this, their little Chaeli recently went through her FIFTH heart surgery and has had 4 different stints placed.

Brian’s battle with cancer finally came to an end this afternoon. But April’s battle (and the children’s) is just beginning. They are a family of faithful believers, so they are trying to see Brian’s death as a celebration instead of a tragedy. Unfortunately, staying positive doesn’t keep a roof over their head or food on their table. Brian and April have always been positive people and have lived by their faith, knowing God would not only take care of them, but that they should take care of others as well. They’ve always lent their support to friends, family and even people they hardly knew - whether it was financially, emotionally or even making friendly and supportive phone call for encouragement and prayer - they were there!
Well THEY need OUR prayers and support right now! Please, stop reading this and pray for a moment. Brian would want anyone who reads this to spend some time with God. Maybe it has been a while since you prayed. Maybe, even in death, Brian can help bring some life to people reading this. That’s what he would have hoped and prayed. So, pray! Please! Right now…

Chaeli, bless her heart, will have to have many more surgeries to stretch the stints as she grows. So, I am asking that you help them financially, in addition to your prayers. They absolutely need it!!! Please, do not read this and think. “I’d love to help, but I can’t give enough.” Yes, you can! $5 is enough! Sending your donation anonymously is okay! If you have been hit hard this year that is ok - a lot of us have! But, everyone together, with their donation (big or small), can help this wonderful family get through this unimaginably difficult time.

Thank you for your support of my beautiful and amazing friend whom I have known for the past 30 years. We have been through a lot together and will continue to support one another through life's trials. April, you are loved more than you know and we are here for you always!
In loving memory of Brian Duane Locke

Thank you all for any contribution big or small, because EVERY single dollar makes a difference! Please, donate - and definitely share!
