Help the Koehler Family

Donation protected
On January 14th 2019, after being sent for a colonoscopy due to stomach pains - Steve was diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer. Being only 29 years old, and relatively healthy, this news came as a complete shock to Steve's family his friends and most people who had even been aquitanted with Steve.

The diagnosis came as a result of a large mass located in Steve's colon which was tested and confirmed malignant. It called for a surgery which would require Steve to remove a portion of his colon.  This came with the possibility that Steve would have to undergo chemotherapy following the surgery due to swollen lymph nodes which were found around the mass in his colon which they believed to also be carrying cancer cells.

On February 12th 2019, Steve underwent surgery which removed approximately 18 inches of his intestine. The purpose of the surgery was to remove the mass, but also to test the lympth nodes to confirm whether or not chemo would be required.

The surgery went as well as it possibly could, outside of losing approxinately 1/3 of his intestine, and a few mishaps with the caphiter - Steve was on his way to recovery, pending the results of the biopsy.

On March 7th 2019 the Koehler Family was devastated to learn that the lymph nodes had unfortunately progressed to Stage 3 - which meant that he would have to undergo chemo therapy.

If you are lucky enough to know the Koehler Family you know that they are the epitome of #goals. Not because they have some picture perfect life, not because they have some fairy tail love story - but because no matter what obtacles have been thrown their way they have always preservered, stood by each other, and grown stronger and stronger every day.

Unfortunately  despite the strength this family has, they need our help to make it through the next grueling chapter of their lives.

Steve and Angela are modest people who come from humble beginnings. They are 29 years old, and like most people this age - trying to get their life started. They have two beautiful daughters, Skylar who is 5 and Sloan who is 1.

As a result of Steve's diagnosis, he is not able to work, and Angela has had to step down from most of her work to be home for Steve and the girls.

While next steps are still being considered, Steve and Angela are willing to fight and do whatever they can to keep their family together, and keep Steve around for years and years, as he should be.

It is for this reason we are reaching out to friends, family, aquitances and those with big hearts to please help this family through this difficult time. Literally anything will help and is incredibly appreciated.

The world won't be the same without Stephen Koehler... #KoehlerRectalKancer #KoehlerRectalRecovery #FuckKancer
