Help Brian Hewitt and Family
Donation protected
On April 19, Brian Hewitt was traveling with his girlfriend Emma Belair to her home in Ohio, to celebrate Easter with family, when they lost control of the wheel because of the rain, and were hit by a passing semi truck. Emma was discharged from the hospital a few days after the accident and is recovering well, but Brian was left in serious condition with life-threatening injuries. He spent the first two weeks following the accident in a medically induced coma before being transferred to another hospital in Ohio for better care in the procedures he needed. He has since woken up, but is suffering from the pain of his injuries, and has a long road to recovery.
Brian's family has spent the past month in Ohio, taking time off work to be by Brian's side. He will soon be moved out of intensive care to begin inpatient rehabilitation at a hospital in New York, where the family will be able to return home and attempt to resume their daily lives while continuing to support Brian's recovery. Seeing their youngest son go through such a traumatic event has not been easy, and they could use every thought and prayer sent their way. As a close friend of Brian's, I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of the Hewitt family, to help alleviate the financial burden of their medical bills and expenses incurred from their travel and stay in Ohio.
At only 21 years old, Brian deserves to have a long, happy life to look forward to. He had been attending Rochester Institute of Technology for a degree in Film Production, where his passions lay in directing, acting, and editing. His talent and ambition extends far beyond that, and he has paid it forward by acting as a mentor for many other students. Brian has touched the lives of all those he has met, and hopes to continue to do so in the stories he creates for the world after college. Brian was in his final year at RIT, but because of the accident, he was unable to attend his graduation.
Brian and his family are taking it one day at a time, and their strength and persistence is inspiring. Any amount of donation will help the Hewitts a great deal. Even a thought or prayer for the family, or sharing this GoFundMe, will go a long way. To those who can give their monetary support, thank you. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for anyone kind enough to offer a helping hand during this difficult time.
