In hopes of helping the Hagopian children deal with the tragic loss of BOTH parents within 6 months, I have set up this GoFundMe account.
My dear friend Brittany is 24 years old. She lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Just last fall, in September 2014, Brit unexpectedly came home after work only to find her mom unconscious and bleeding on the floor. Her mom, Jackie, was rushed to the hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead due to a spontaneous aneurysm. She was in her 40's. Jackie was a single-mom raising Brittany, age 24, and her two younger twin brothers, Max and Luke. I have watched them courageously handle their mother's bills and funeral expenses.
Just when I thought they were starting to accept the loss of their mother, I just got a phone call today that their father, Frank Hagopian, who was their last living parent, passed away from a heart attack THIS morning, March 20, 2015. Frank also has one other daughter, Robin Hagopian, who is in her 20's. Robin lives in Arizona, works AND goes to school. However, this unfortunate event will put a strain on her wallet as well, as she has to purchase a flight home to Wisconsin at the last minute to say goodbye to her father. A plane ticket to ensure she makes it to her dad's funeral on time is in the upper $700's. That's at least one month's rent. :(
Brittany has not even graduated college yet and is now completely on her own. It has fully become her responsibility to make sure that her and the boys keep it together. These three kids do NOT have health insurance, have no permanent home to live in, are unsure of how they are going to continue feeding themselves and paying for college. Brittany has already considered dropping out to support herself and the two boys. Right now she is still attending the University of Wisconsin (Parkside) full-time, working TWO jobs plus an internship. She also has managed to make the Dean's List despite all the recent obstacles in her life. On top of all this, the Hagopian kids are responsible for the funeral arrangements of their father, Frank, since he did NOT have any life insurance. :(
Please donate in ANY way that you can. Frank and Jackie always were there to take care of cousins and friends close to Brit and the boys. They made sure the kids were fed, took them swimming and never asked for anything in return.
I feel that it is my job to at least help in anyway I can. ANY donation you can make is GREATLY appreciated, whether it's $1.00 or $100.00. Thank you so much for helping the Hagopian family.
