Just last week some close members of my family got a shocking call, their house was on fire. They were 3hrs away and the drive now felt like it would take forever!  Not knowing what to expect when they got there it was quite a blow to them to find nothing but a smouldering pile of coals and debris.  What was a home in the family for over 85yrs, hand built by her grandfather and where they raised their 2 children was gone.  Nobody, myself included, can begin to understand what that feels like.  They are lucky though, at least they are safe and their 2 small dogs were with them, although they did lose the family cat.

First question asked by everyone is "Did they have insurance?", unfortunately they did not.  A hard lesson learned, that cannot be changed now.
So, this leaves them trying their hardest to rebuild a life for their family.  Luckily they have secured an alternate home in our community, but it is not winterized.

Our community and surrounding areas have been overwhelmingly supportive and generous, enough thanks can never be given.  This page is  for those who may know us or our family or just heard our story and want to give a little something to help, but maybe do not know how to.
