Jimmy's Final Expenses

It is with a heavy heart, that we create this gofundme campaign today. The Cragun family, along with those in our small community here in Eastern Oregon, are grieving the loss of a life taken much too soon. Early in the morning of May 27th, 2017, James (Jimmy) Cragun was brutally murdered in Hermiston, Oregon.
Jimmy's family is devestated, trying to cope with the reality that he is gone forever. His parents, Dave and Beverly, are living the worst possible nightmare a parent will ever have to face. Not only are they in tremendous pain, they now have ahead of them a task that no parent should ever have to complete...the funeral of their only son.
Jimmy was in his late 30's, and had never thought to put in place contingencies like life insurance and living wills. He, like all of us, imagined he had much more time to tend to those things. After all, Jim was a healthy guy...he wasn't ill. He wasn't the victim of some avoidable accident. He was brutally murdered by a crazy man with a gun... one who is still out on our streets somewhere. His children are left without their daddy, his parents are left without their son. His sister has lost her only sibling, and her children have just lost their uncle.
And there is nothing we can do about it. No choice to be had.
Now it is up to Dave and Bev to try and figure out a way to make sure their child is laid to rest, and that their grandchildren have their needs met. Jim's funeral costs and other final expenses were certainly not something that they had funds set aside for.
Thankfully, though, we belong to a caring and tight knit community (Jimmy lived in Hermiston, his parents and sister live in nearby Echo). A community that comes together to help our friends and neighbors when they need it most.
So please, if you are able to make a donation, do. Even if it is a dollar or two. And if a donation isn't possible, then please share this campaign with all the folks you know. A small amount of kindness and generosity can make a huge difference to this family. I think we can all make that happen.
