They say that sometimes it is easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission. So, I am hoping that I will be forgiven by a family so very dear to my heart in putting this page up.

This family, the Brights, are the most humble, caring, honest, and loving people that you could come across.  When I lost my brother 3.5 years ago, this family have been our rock, the pain of losing someone you love is immeasurable, and constant. Though when you lose someone so very close to you there are some people that expect you to 'move on', and 'get over it', it sounds harsh, but unfortunately in our experience human nature prefers to ignore a situation that makes them uncomfortable, rather than rally to it.. But not the Brights, they are beside us, every step of the way, from the first couple of days, and still today, through the tears, the silence, and the breakdowns, they have empathised with us, with love that has carried us.  And all the while fighting their own battles..

Cancer.... It's that kind of word that stirs an array of diferent emotions in every person, sadness, anger, empathy, hopelessness or even hope.  For 'The Brights', cancer is their fight. In 2014, Robyn (Mother), who is the most fun loving, witty, warm and beautiful woman, has Neuroendocrine tumours in her pancreas, liver and bones, and though the diagnosis was devastating she has been fighting the monster that is Neuroendocrine Cancer for 2 years now, and with a body that says no, she is using all her strength to keep battling, she is amazing!  10 weeks ago, this family had further devastating news, cancer hasn't hit this beautiful family just once, it has now hit their son Aary at just 22 years of age, a Navy Botswain's Mate who has served overseas. Whilst Aaron was in Sydney working, some pain he was experiencing, led to doctors finding some tumour masses in his liver, lungs and stomach, and is now undergoing strong treatment for germ cell cancer (testicular), unbelievably fighting it and baring his beautiful cheeky grin!

Now, whilst you can imagine this news railroaded the whole family, and ours... Whilst we have all shed our tears, and still do, I am taken aback and inspired by seeing this family pick themselves up and charge like bulls at Cancer, and I'm so priviledged and proud to be standing beside them through this.

There are so many people, even I,  feel lost in knowing how to help or what to do, and some people stand stagnant in taking action at all... Reaching out is the biggest thing anyone can do... And whilst I could hug them and not let go (that's what I want to do!).. I wonder whether you can help me, show Robyn, Chris, Matt, Aaron and Renae how much they are loved and how many people are behind them in their fight! The feeling of knowing they have a community of support behind them, is bound to lift them  to fight even harder, to make each day brighter for our Brights.

Please send prayers, love, and donate to support this family, I would love to see them take a family holiday to somewhere magnificent, but also provide them with a financial gift to pay for doctors, accomodation during treatments, and just to relieve a little of the burden of every day life.

#fuckcancer, I refer again to asking for forgiveness rather than permission for this hastag.
