Hello people of the internet. My name is Teresa Shaw and my husband is Lance. I'm a Navy vetern and we both work for Washingotn State Department of Corrections as Corrections Officers. We bought our first home in July '11. It sits on 5 acres on a bluff overlooking the Pilchuck river. We raise turkeys and chickens, have three cats (Lola, Ty & Butter) and one dog (Lilly, Jack Russell). I always share my eggs with friends and family. I don't sell them. Some of our turkeys we hatched from eggs, so they grew up on my shoulder. We like to call them our "Redneck parrots"! :-) They are so very tame and social. There is a multitude of critters that live here; eagles, hawks, owls, ravens, deer, chipmunks, coyote, bear and some wildcats. I love the big cats but they did take out five adult turkeys this summer! :-( Sometimes we get to watch our own version of a football game when the eagles and falcons bicker and fight with each other. On clear days we can see Mt. Baker from the deck. So here is why I'm asking for help. In November 2012 the bluff started crumbling/eroding away. We hired a geologist and were told we need to move the house 400 feet away from the cliff. As of today 11/25/14 the county has placed a "Limited Enrty" notice on our garage. That means the house is not far behind. Ok, we have the room to move the house, we just don't have the money. Nor do we have the equity in the home to finance the move. So I am asking for a little help from a lot of people. I am hoping that everyone that sees this will pass it on to everyong they know. If 150,000 people can donate $1.00 then I can save my home. It's asking alot and it isn't easy to ask but there it is. Please help, we need help. I appreciate anyone taking the time to read my story and greatly appreciate any help offered.
Thank you again,
Teresa Shaw
