Help Terri Spurlock

Terri Spurlock, someone who’s spend her whole life putting everyone else first, finally needs our help! About 6 months ago back in September, Terri woke up from a nap and couldn’t feel the bottom half of her body. She spent several weeks in the hospital with little to no answers until they finally diagnosed her with the West Niles Virus. After 3 long months in the hospital, they finally let her go home . She still has flaccid paralysis of both legs as well as other symptom from West Nile virus as well as side affects from medication she needs to take . The doctor can not say when or if she will regain the function of her legs and we really have no idea how long until she will be better. As many of you already know. Terri and her husband Terry aren’t new to tragedy. Starting back over 35 years ago when there only son Aaron Spurlock was diagnosed with a terminal disease called Cystic Fibrosis when he was born, and then hit again 13 years later when he got diagnosed with Leukemia, and then yet again when he passed away a couple hard fought years later. After all of this, they still managed to hold themselves together well enough to take care of everyone else around them. From a brother and neice who are both in wheelchairs all the way down to all of their little cousins who struggled with dependency issues. Terri and Terry were always there to provide a sober and stable environment and put the pieces back in everyone else's lives. Never asking for a handout or anything else in return . I can think of countless lives that they’ve changed in so many ways for the better, and not one of the opposite.

But now that Terri is not able walk, and needs time to learn how to live and function without the use of her legs so she can return to work full time .Terry’s has taken the roll of caregiver for Terri while still juggling all the household chores, picking up and watching his great nephews everyday after school. So he is unable to work outside the home either! These aren’t only people who need our help, these are the people who deserve our help!

These funds will be used to help purchase new wheelchair accessible transportation, so that Terri is able to get to work, the store, etc.
