Get David Ruble back on the road!

Friends,
My name is Dr. David Sharp and I, along with Katie Wetherbee and Sarah Berkemeier, am organizing this campaign on behalf of David Ruble, also known as Tater Dave. He is, without a doubt, one of the best bread makers that I have had had the pleasure of knowing.
We all know how amazing our friend is. Some of us know him as Dave while others of us know him as Henricus. Whatever you call him, I think we all can agree that he's the first person to volunteer to help when assistance is needed and the first person we call on when we need a strong back or a comforting ear. In the 8 years that I've know him, he has been a constant source of humor, advice, and support. He is a brother to me and has always been good to me. If you are reading this then I am certain that you feel the same.

As many of you know, Dave had been working at a bakery very far away from his wife and children since September of last year. It was a good job and paid the bills, but after about six months of being removed from the ones he loves, he decided to return home and focus on being able to support his family through means financial as well as proximal. He decided to self-employ through the creation of a mobile kitchen and expected to travel to large events as a food vendor.
We all spent the last month watching and being impressed by Dave as he created a mobile kitchen from scratch. It was an amazing sight to see.

Yesterday, while returning home from his job, the newly built trailer and source of income for his family was completely consumed in a fire while driving home from a job. There was very little that could be salvaged. The good news is that Dave and his son Ben are both shaken but in good health. The bad news is that this represented an entire month's worth of Dave's time and finances and the losses also included clothing, bedding, toiletries, his son Ben's toys, and all of the other ancillary materials that you'd need to live and work from a remote location. These losses so shortly after completing the trailer will impact his ability to pay bills and earn money until a new kitchen can be built and equipped.

So here's the plan. We all need to band together and get Dave back on his feet and back in the kitchen where he belongs! You've tasted his bread, you've been on his meal plans, and you've sampled his pizzas so you know that there is nobody you'd rather have feed you and laugh with you than this man. To do that, we need to help buy him a new kitchen and make sure that he can feed his family and keep the electricity on.
To get the recovery started, Dave's brothers and sisters of House Blackhammer (SCA household, his reenactment friends), have passed a hat around. One of our members has a 19 foot, dual axle trailer he is generously donating to Dave. We've also sent him some seed money to get to work converting the new trailer into an even better and more road-worthy kitchen than the first one is. This trailer needs new tires and the roof resealed but is otherwise ready for him to start working on.
It's a start, but donations from ALL of us who call him a friend is what will see this project succeed. The summer is almost here, and that is when Dave is going to be at his busiest. We need to raise this money as quickly as possible so that he can get out there and cook!
Still needed are funds to pay for-
New tires
Bills for 1-2 months until he can return to work
Materials to refit the donated trailer into a mobile kitchen
New equipment for the mobile kitchen
All of the funds raised will be going directly to keeping Dave's family and work afloat.
I need your help to amplify this message, multiply these donations, and let our good friend rise from the ashes. This is your moment to be a strong social net and assist a friend in need. Please give what you can or contact me if you have any support you'd rather provide in goods or materials. -Edit: Dave's son lost some toys that he was very fond of, specifically Lego's. If you'd prefer to mail new or gently used toys in lieu of money, send me a note and I'll facilitate this.
Thank you so much for your time and your generosity.
