"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday... Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear."- Unknown
Richard Golia Jr. AKA 'Papa Dukes', age 48, of Cheshire, left us early April 5th, 2017. He was born on May 18th, 1968 in Norfork, VA., And was the son of Richard and Nancy (Nuzzo) Golia Sr of Hamden, CT. Rick was the father of Richard 'Tanner' Golia of Cheshire. Beloved brother of Deneen (Joseph) O'Mara and nephew Joseph O'Mara of North Haven. Also survived by Joseph's son David O'Mara of North Haven and the mother of Rick's son Sandy Barrett of California.
Richard was a devoted New York Yankee and Pitsburg Steelers fan. He lived in California for 35 years and eventually relocated to Connecticut with his son Tanner.
If you've ever met Rick you'd know how loving, caring, and passionate he is. I also know that he cares indefinitely about Tanner and loved him very much. I know first hand I wouldn't be able to take care of everything myself, so why should Tanner?! This donation page is meant to help our friend raise some money to further his education and help with living expenses.
A memorial service for Rick will be held on Thursday April 20th, 2017 at Colonial Funeral home. Located at 86 Circular Ave. in Hamden CT, from 5-7 P.M. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 P.M. with Rev. George. Any kind of donations can be made to the funeral home and GoFundMe donation page in the name of Rick Golia for his son Tanner.
